Hawaiʻi is special because it carries the legacy of our ancestors a place where culture community, and spirit are inseparable from the land. Our people have always thrived by standing together, rooted in Aloha and guided by the wisdom of those who came before. We must unite across generations, across differences, to ensure Hawaiʻi’s story is not only remembered, but strengthened. Aloha is not just a word, it is our responsibility: to protect, to uplift, and to honor the gift we have been given. Together, we can carry forward what makes Hawaiʻi unique and sacred, for our keiki and for the generations yet to come.

He waiwai nui ka lōkahi. Unity is a precious possession.

How do you Keep it Aloha?

Keeping it Aloha isn’t just a phrase, it’s a way of life.

“Keeping it Aloha” to me means living with intention, humility, heart and authenticity no matter where you are or who you’re with. It’s about showing up with respect, kindness, and care, even when it’s hard. It’s not just a greeting or a goodbye; it’s a way of being.

It’s how you carry yourself when no one’s watching. It’s how you lift others up when they’re down. It’s how you stay rooted in your values while still flowing with change.

Keeping it aloha means knowing who you are, where you come from, and letting that guide how you treat others; with love, understanding, and Pono (righteousness).

-Kamaka Dias President of Keep It Aloha Foundation.
